How do I Decorate a Home for a Beach Party Theme?

- Two blue tarps
- Two chairs
- Heavy books
- Surfboard
- Camera
- Poster paint
- Paintbrush
- Paper tablecloth
- Masking tape
- Hot glue gun
- Grass skirts
- Bright yellow beach towel
- Sand pails
- Shells
- Candle wax
- Wicks
- Tiki torches
- Sand
- Tall thin white tapered candles
- Silk poppy flowers
- String of mini Christmas lights
- Drink umbrellas

Build a surf station by placing one blue tarp over two chairs. Place the second tarp over a pile of books. Paint waves, fish and "surfin' safari" on the tarps. Balance the surfboard on the books and take pictures of people on the surfboard.

Place a paper tablecloth over a tall table. Fold the edges of the tablecloth over and secure them with the masking tape. Attach grass skirts to the tablecloth edges with the hot glue gun to create a tiki bar.

Fill sand pails with sand and place tiki torches in the pails for floor decorations.

Place the beach towel on the dining room table. Fill small sand pails with potato chips, pretzels and goldfish crackers.

Create shell candles by pouring melted candle wax into shells. Add a small piece of candle wicking before the wax hardens.

Make centerpieces with tall square glass vases. Fill the vase 1/3 up with sand. Add shells and tall thin tapered white candles.

Take apart silk poppy flowers, which will have a hole in the center of the bloom. Place the flower around the lights on a string of mini Christmas lights, pushing the flower away from the light. Hang the lights around the party room.

Serve all party drinks with drink umbrellas.
