How do I Clean Bad Toilet Bowl Stains?

It's important to incorporate a regular cleaning routine that keeps the toilet presentable. When stains, toilet bowl rings and other residue builds up on the toilet bowl, you are left with an unsightly bowl that your guests may be afraid to use. By using a few inexpensive cleaning items, you can keep the toilet bowl clean and free of stains.

Things You'll Need

• Vinegar
• Toilet bowl brush
• Spray bottle
• Baking soda
• Bowl
• Spoon

Instructions

1. Pour 2 cups white vinegar into the toilet bowl one to two times per week, and let the vinegar sit for 1 hour. The vinegar is not only a cleaning agent, but also disinfects, deodorizes and dissolves buildup.

2. Scrub the toilet bowl with a bowl brush after 1 hour has passed and flush the toilet.

3. Sprinkle baking soda over the entire bowl to get rid of any leftover buildup. Pour 2 cups vinegar into a spray bottle and spray over the baking soda. The mixture will foam slightly, which works well to break up heavy stains.

4. Scrub the bowl with a toilet brush after 10 minutes has passed, and flush the toilet.

5. Mix 1 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup white vinegar in a bowl if any stains remain. Stir the ingredients with a spoon to form a paste, and spread a thick layer of the paste over the stains. Let sit overnight, scrub with a toilet brush and flush the toilet.
