You don't have to be a construction worker to appreciate the fabric-like quality of the super sticky tape known as duct tape. Brightly colored rolls of duct tape should be kept on hand by every crafter. Its uses are limitless. Embellish your duct tape hats, wallets, purses and other items with duct tape feathers you can make in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

      Tear off two pieces of duct tape that are approximately 10 inches in length. You don't need to be exact, just eyeball it. Put the pieces together with the sticky sides facing each other.

      Fold the piece in half so it is half as wide as it was. Cut the piece in a half-feather shape by starting at one end of the folded edge, cutting a curved line that goes slightly out and up to the other end of the folded edge. Cut one end of the oblong shape more rounded and the other to a point.

      Keep the piece you cut folded in half. Starting at the pointed end cut at a downward slant in from the open-edge of the folded piece toward the folded edge without actually cutting through the folded edge. Make these cuts every 1/4 to 1/2 inch all along the edge, varying the distance between cuts.

      Unfold the piece. Ruffle the edges of the feather a little bit to give it some dimension.
