How to Adjust Paper Size Printer Options

Changing the paper size options for a printer allows a user to complete different kinds of print jobs, such as envelopes, index cards, labels or professional letters. Adjust the options for the printer paper size within the application or document from which you're printing. After inserting the proper paper size in the printer's paper tray, the printing job can be started.

      Click on the "File" menu and select the "Print" option for a document or program application window you want to print. Or, in Windows operating systems, press the "Ctrl" and then "P" keyboard keys at the same time to bring up the "Print" dialog box.

      Click the "Properties" or "Preferences" button in the "Print" window. Select the "Paper/Quality" tab.

      Click the "Size is" drop-down menu in the "Paper Options" section. Click on a paper size--such as "Legal," "Letter" or "Envelope"--to select it. Examine the dimensions shown next to "Size is" and the sample preview of the document to verify that the paper size is correct for the print job. Click "OK" to close the "Properties" or "Preferences" box.
