How to Save Ringtones on a Motorola Razr V3a
If you own a Motorola Razr V3a, you do not have to limit yourself to using the ringtones that are bundled with your cell phone. The software included with your Razr V3 allows you to edit and transfer sound files to your phone. This gives you limitless freedom when creating and editing personalized ring tones. You can select your favorite song from a sound file on your computer or your favorite CD. You can even select a voice recording of one of your loved ones.

Connect your phone to your computer with the included USB cable. Launch Motorola Phone Tools from your computer.

Choose one of your phone's existing profiles or create a new one. Click "OK." Wait until a picture of your phone appears. If this is your first time using Motorola Phone Tools, you'll need to wait until the initial setup is complete.

Select "Multimedia Studio" in the lower left corner of your computer screen. A pop-up window will appear. To choose an audio source file, select "Melody Studio." Choose one of the following tabs from the top of your screen: "Samples," "My Melodies," "My PC," "My CD" or "My Phone."

Edit the audio file. If you do not wish to edit it, simply choose "Transfer to phone." The software will place the file in your phone's "Ringtones" folder.

Tips & Warnings
Ringtones can also be transferred via Bluetooth. The computer must have a Bluetooth profile that supports OBEX file transfer.
Not all carriers allow cell phone users to use their own ringtones. Check with your carrier for ringtone restrictions.
