How to Remove Black Mold From a Plastic Shower Curtain
Mold on a plastic shower curtain can permanently stain the curtain, as well as create a very bad smell that is detected throughout the shower area. Breathing in mold that has found its way onto a plastic shower curtain could potentially cause serious health risks, such as respiratory problems, eye, throat and nose irritation and chronic fatigue. A household liquid, along with the proper treatment, safely removes black mold from a plastic shower curtain without the curtain being stained, melted, warped or otherwise damaged. Take the plastic shower curtain off its hooks.

Dampen a bath towel or scrubbing brush.

Scrub the shower curtain to remove the black mold spots from the curtain. Do not worry if you cannot remove all of the spots.

Fill a bathtub or sink with 50 percent warm water and 50 percent white distilled vinegar.

Soak the shower curtain for 45 minutes. Then, remove the curtain from the liquid.

Scrub the shower curtain once more with a clean brush or bath towel. Scrub until you no longer see mold on the curtain.

Rinse the shower curtain with warm water.

Hang the shower curtain either outside in a sunny spot, or in a well-ventilated part of your house. Make sure the shower curtain is completely dry before putting the curtain back up or putting it away.
