Instructions

    • 1

Lay the pieces of the bay window curtain rod kit on a flat surface near the window. Identify the left, central and right rods, then position them on the flat surface in the same configuration that they will be positioned on the window. Place the hinge or pivot brackets between the central, and the left and right rods. Place the terminal brackets at the outer ends of the left and right rods.

    • 2

Make a faint pencil mark at the desired vertical level for the rods near the middle of the central window. Using a ruler, measure the distance from the top of the window to the mark. Measure and mark the positions of the terminal ends of the left and right rods, on the wall or window frame, so they are at the same vertical level as the original mark. Measure and mark the left and right sides of the central window frame or wall at the same level. The inner hinged brackets will be placed as closely as possible to the corners of the central window frame.

    • 3

Measure and mark the vertical center of the brackets. Holding each of the appropriate brackets in place, mark through the screw holes in the brackets onto the wall or window frame. Remove the bracket and drill a pilot hole into the wall at each of the screw-hole marks. Attach the mounting brackets onto the wall or window frame, using a screwdriver and the screws provided in the curtain rod kit.

    • 4

Insert the ends of the central rod into the hinged bracket, as instructed by the manufacturer. Insert the hinge end of the left or right rod onto the hinged bracket, then pivot the rod to insert the terminal end into the corresponding terminal bracket. Repeat to hang the last rod.
