How Do I Remove the Bean Container on a Cuisinart Coffee Grinder DBM-8?

Removing the bean hopper from the Cuisinart DBM-8 should only be done with the power cord unplugged.

The Cuisinart DBM-8 coffee bean grinder is what is known as a burr grinder. While more inexpensive coffee grinders use a spinning blade to chop up the beans, the DBM-8 employs a rotating wheel that has a rough surface (or burrs) designed to grind up the beans. Removing the bean container is sometimes necessary to clean the unit.

• Damp cloth or paper towel

Instructions

1. Unplug the unit. Remove all beans from the bean container.

2. Turn the bean container, also known as the bean hopper, in a clockwise direction until it comes loose from the unit.

3. Replace the bean hopper by placing it in position and turning it in a counterclockwise direction. Restore power to the unit.

Tips & Warnings

• Use a damp cloth or paper towel to gently remove build-up on the rotating grinding wheel.
