Hooking up a DirecTV receiver to the TV tuner on your PC lets you enjoy satellite television programming on the computer. DirecTV receivers are equipped with an output jack that connects directly to a TV with a coaxial cable. This same jack is used for the connection to the PC's threaded coaxial input using a standard cable. Setup takes less than a minute.

      Press the power button to turn off the DirecTV receiver and shut down the PC.

      Push the end of a coaxial cable onto the "Out to TV" jack on the rear of the DirecTV receiver. Tighten the lock nut on the cable.

      Connect the other end to the ANT IN jack on the PC's TV tuner card on the back of the tower.

      Turn on the DirecTV receiver and the computer.

      Double-click the name of the TV tuner on the PC's desktop to launch the viewing screen and television controls on the PC.

  • Change channels with the DirecTV receiver using the remote control that comes with the unit.
