How to Mount a Panasonic Plasma TV TH-C42FD18
Mounting the Panasonic Plasma TH-C42FD18 on a wall not only saves space in the room but also makes the TV's sleek looks stand out and gives the room a high-tech feel. This display method also allows you to hide all the cables and connections that go to the back of the TV, minimizing the unorganized appearance of knotted and flowing TV, DVD and game console cables. Using a wall mount is not that difficult, but you must attach the mount to the wall studs.

1
Purchase the type of mount you want for the 42-inch plasma TV. Decide on whether you are going to install the standard fixed flat wall mount or the tilted and articulated arm wall mount. The fixed mount is the easiest to install and takes up the least amount of space, adding only two inches to the depth of the Panasonic plasma TV. The Tilted and articulated arm wall mount is wider but allows you access to all the interconnecting ports on the back of the TV, making it easier to connect cables and accessories.

2
Locate the studs on the wall you are mounting the TV to with a stud finder. Pass an electronic stud finder over the wall and listen for the sounding alarm and flashing lights, indicating the stud. An electronic stud finder has an LCD light array which indicates the center and edges of the stud. You need to fasten the screws and anchors you use in the wood studs and not just the wall board because of the weight of the TV.

3
Measure the height at which you want to mount the TV on the stud. This height should be where the center of the Panasonic display is at eye level when a person is seated. However some people choose to set it at a higher level. Place the mount on the wall where you want it and mark the placement of each anchor and screw at the appropriate height level on the wall stud.

Drill pilot holes in the wall at the marks. Insert the wall anchors in the pilot holes. Fasten the screws through the mount to the marks you made in the wall with a Phillips screwdriver. Use a level to check that the mount is level before tightening the screws. Make any necessary adjustments and then firmly tighten the screws in the mount.

5
Pull on the mount as hard as you can to make sure it is firmly in place. Ask a friend to help you slide the heavy plasma TV into the holding bracket of the wall mount.
