How do I Change Backgrounds in a TomTom?

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a radio-navigation system that gives users accurate location information. A space-based system, it relies on satellites orbiting the Earth, control centers on Earth and personal receivers. TomTom is a brand of GPS personal receiver typically used in cars. Your TomTom is useful for driving in an unfamiliar area or along a complicated route. It has various background choices with different color schemes. You can select a daytime setting and night-time setting that your TomTom will automatically switch between, based on the time of day.

Instructions

1. Touch the screen anywhere to go to the Main Menu. Press "Change Preferences."

2. Press the right arrow three times. You will be on "Preferences 4 of 5." Press "Change map colors."

3. Press the square or the desired color scheme, or press "Select," when prompted to choose a day color scheme. Four options are displayed on the screen, or press "Advanced" in the lower left corner to browse more options.

4. Press the square or the desired color scheme or press "Select" when prompted to choose a night color scheme.

5. Press "Done" to return to your map.
