Bluetooth is a very convenient technology that enables local connections, such as keyboard, mouse and audio headsets, without the use of cables. A Bluetooth profile must be configured for each Bluetooth device that is added to a computer. Configuring a Bluetooth profile is a straightforward procedure.

  • Bluetooth device with discovery mode enabled

Instructions

    • 1

      Click the "Start" button, and then click "Devices and Printers," and then in the window that appears, right click on the Bluetooth device that is being added to the computer Bluetooth profiles, and click "Bluetooth Settings."

      Click the "Options" tab, and then select the "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer" check box. Click the "OK" button.

      Click the "Start" button, and then click "Control Panel." The "Control Panel" window will appear.

      Click the "Add a Device" link located under the "Hardware and Sound" icon. A window will appear that displays an icon for the Bluetooth device being configured (paired) with the computer. Click the device icon, and then click the "Next" button.

      Note the connection code generated and displayed in the window. Enter the connection code into the Bluetooth device being paired with the computer.

      Click the "Next" button and wait for Windows to confirm that the Bluetooth device has been added to the computer.

      Click the "Start" button, and then click "Devices and Printers," and then in the window that appears, right click on the Bluetooth device that has just been added to the computer and click "Bluetooth Settings." Click the "Options" tab, and then clear the "Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer" check box. Click the "OK" button.
