Fisher and Paykel is an appliance manufacturer based in East Tamaki, New Zealand that originally was a refrigerator importer. The company has grown to serve Australia, Italy and the United States as well as New Zealand by making a range of home appliances. If your Fisher and Paykel washer experiences problems it will emit a beeping sound, either every 5 seconds or every second. Depending on the beep and warning lights, you should be able to quickly diagnose the problem.
Beeps Every 5 Seconds

Step 1
Check the hot water light. If you hear musical beeps and the hot water light is flashing, your home hot water supply may not be warm enough to maintain the wash cycle you selected. Try a colder wash cycle. This warning light can also mean the hot water inlet hose is blocked, kinked, connected to the wrong tap or not turned on. Check the hot water hose for problems.

Check the cold water light. If you hear musical beeping every 5 seconds and the cold water light is lit, it can mean the cold water tap is not turned on, the cold water hose is connected to the wrong hose or the hose is kinked or blocked. It can also indicate that the water flow is too slow or the cold water temperature is too high.
Step 3
Check both the hot and cold water lights. If you hear a musical beeping every 5 seconds and both lights are lit, it can mean the taps have not been turned on, the hoses are blocked, there is a kink in the hose or the water pipes are connected to the wrong taps. This warning may also indicate the drain hose is too low or that water is siphoning out of the machine. It can also mean the water flow is too slow.
Step 4
Check the high water light. If your machine is beeping every 5 seconds and the high water light is lit, it means the water level in the machine is too high for the drum to spin. You can remove clothes from the machine to clear this problem. This warning light can also indicate that you need to select a higher water level to complete the wash.
Step 5
Look at the first rinse light and spin light. If you hear a musical beeping and either of these lights are glowing, it can mean the machine is full of suds. You might have used too much detergent. Wait for around 20 minutes for the suds to subside before starting a deep wash to clean the clothes.
Step 6
Examine the lid-lock light. If you hear beeping every 5 seconds and the lid light is glowing, it can mean the lid is not fully closed. Firmly shut the lid and press the start/pause button.
Step 7
Look at the first rinse light, the spin light and the spin speed light. If all are lit and the machine is beeping every 5 seconds, it can mean the wash load is unbalanced. Make sure the machine is stopped and redistribute the load so it's not stuck to the sides. Make sure the machine is on a level surface if the problem persists.
Beeps Every Second
Step 1
If you hear this type of warning turn your machine off at the wall and wait for around a minute before plugging it back in.
Step 2
Use a spirit level to ensure the machine is on a level surface, if the problem persists.
Step 3
Remove the load and start again to try and clear the problem.
Step 4
Try putting the machine on a deep rinse with spin while empty to try and clear any problems.
