How to Burn an ISO Game File
An ISO is an image file of a disc; however, it's not a picture but a digital copy of a disc. This digital copy can be played back exactly like any DVD or CD. Many video gamers back up their game software disc onto their computers for safe keeping in the off chance that their original copy is scratched or destroyed. These copies are legal as long as the consumer has the original copy and receipt. A game ISO can be burned to a DVD; however, to prevent piracy many video game creators have made extra measures that will not allow the burned disc to work on their console.

1
Open the software program that you use to burn most of your dvds or cds. Make sure this software program supports the .iso file format.
-
2
Insert the blank disc into your dvd or cd writer drive. Wait for the system and software to register that it has a blank disc.

3
Review the files on the .iso image before you click the burn button and wait as the disc burns. This can take 5 minutes to 45 minutes depending on the burn speed of your disc writer and the size of the image. The .iso file format is a compressed file format like a .zip or .rar and it doesn't require any movement or copying on the part of the user. The .iso file format makes CD and DVD backup pretty easy.

4
Check the disc that you recently burned and make sure it works with whatever system the .iso file was made for.
