How to Use MSN Live With Gmail

Checking email accounts can be time-consuming if the user has multiple email accounts such as Windows Live and Gmail. But users can check both of those at the same time by setting up Gmail in the default accounts in Windows Live Mail. Accounts such as Live and Hotmail can also be accessed in the Gmail inbox; but, when these accounts are synced in Gmail, the settings must be updated every 30 days.

Instructions

Gmail on Windows Live

1. Open Windows Live Mail. Go to the "Start" menu, select "All Programs" and "Windows Live."

2. Select "Add E-Mail Account" from the side menu.

3. Enter the e-mail address and password. Click "OK."

4. Click "Finish."

5. Check e-mail by highlighting the "Gmail" tab in the side menu.

Using Windows Live Mail in Gmail

1. Go to Gmail.com and log in.

2. Go to "Settings." Select "Account and Import," then "Import Mail and Contacts."

3. Enter the email address and password to import in the pop-up window that comes up.

4. Check the appropriate boxes to the desired imports and select "Start Import." Gmail will now sync the live inbox with the Gmail inbox when checking for new mail.
