How to Set Up a Digital Conversion Box

Receiving digital signals on your TV through a converter box

For years, television stations broadcast their content via analog signals, which could be received by attaching an antenna to a television station. Now that the analog-to-digital conversion is complete, televisions must have either a digital tuner or a digital conversion box installed to receive the digital signals television stations are using to broadcast content. The FCC has provided detailed instructions on how to set up a digital conversion box for televisions without digital tuners.

• Digital conversion box
• Coaxial cables

How to set up a digital conversion box

1. Unplug your TV's coaxial antenna wire from the "Antenna In (RF)" port.

2. Plug that same coaxial wire into the "Antenna In (RF)" port on your converter box.

3. Plug one end of the coaxial wire that comes with your digital converter box into the "Out To TV (RF)" port on the converter box. Plug the other end into the "Antenna In (RF)" port on your TV.

4. Plug the power cords on your converter box and TV into a power outlet, and turn on your TV and converter box. Your television is now ready to receive digital signals.
