Crossword puzzles are great tools for teaching and learning vocabulary and spelling--or to simply stretch your mind and get your brain to think outside of the box. Thanks to the Internet, you can create a professional-looking crossword puzzle for yourself or for friends or students in just a few minutes--and make as many copies as you like.

Instructions

1. Choose an online puzzle maker to create your crossword puzzles. Some sites allow you to choose the number of rows and columns in your puzzle, and others do not. Choose the one that best fits your needs.

2. Enter a title and decide on the number of rows and columns for your puzzle, if applicable.

3. Enter the words and the clues for each word. Take care to follow the directions for entering the words and clues carefully. Some sites require you to separate the word from the clue with nothing more than a space, some require a slash or a dash and others have separate entry boxes for each word and each clue.

4. Click on "Create Puzzle" or an equivalent button and wait while the site generates your puzzle. Print as many copies as you need for yourself, your family, friends or students.
