Many people carry excess weight in their abdominal area. To tone your abs fast, you will need to focus on workouts that target your abdominal muscles. Toning your abs does require a committed workout schedule. And you'll need to increase your regular number of workouts. For example, if you exercise your abs three times a week normally, to tone them faster, you'll need to increase that number to five or more.

      Reduce your intake of calories by eating less fatty foods. Also, increase your protein consumption with cheese, milk, eggs, and any other high-protein food. Protein allows your muscles to grow with a stringent workout regimen.

      Drink more water. To tone your abdominals, increasing the amount of water that you drink is imperative. Hydrating your body gives you a greater chance of toning your muscles quickly.

      Increase your cardio workouts during the period that you want to tone your abdominals. Running, swimming or bicycling are effective choices for cardio workouts.

If you usually do two sets of 10 crunches daily, try the double-split workout, which means that you double those 10 crunches to 20 and do four sets of crunches instead of two sets. If you are advanced and want to see faster results, try a triple-split workout using this same process. These workouts don't have to be performed at the same time, they just need to be done the same day.

      Analyze your results by looking at your progress. Depending on the level of your workouts, you should see weekly results. If the results fall short of your expectations, begin to keep a diary of food intake and a log of daily workouts. Review those every week to find ways to further reduce calories and increase your level of workout.
