How to Clean a Projection TV Lens
Dust particles in the air can come in contact with the inside of your projection television as well as the outside. Over time, dust can accumulate or build on the lenses within the television. This can affect lens clarity and thus, your projection television's visual quality. Cleaning the lenses inside a projection television will minimize dust build up and allow you to enjoy better picture performance. Cleaning lenses involves care not to scratch or damage them.

Turn off your projection television and unplug it from the wall outlet and other power supplies.

Using a screwdriver, remove the screws located on the back cover of the projection television.

Lift the back cover up and away from the television. You should now see the television's mirror and three lens "guns" located inside the case.

Using a soft cloth, gently clean any dust or dirt on the television lenses. Use light hand pressure to avoid scratching the lenses.

For heavy cleaning, apply a non-ammonia lens cleaner to a soft cloth and gently clean the lenses.

Replace the back cover on the television. Install the screws back in with the screwdriver.

Plug your projection television back into a power supply and turn it on to test the picture quality.

Some televisions access the lens through the front of the television. Consult your user's manual for instructions on how to access the lens.

You may need help from another person when lifting the rear cover of the television to avoid harm to yourself or the television.
Be careful not to touch anything other than then lenses and mirror. Even unplugged, televisions can deliver a shock.
