How to See Document Versions in Word 2007

If you started working on a document in Microsoft Word 2007 and someone else edited it afterward, you may want to see the differences between the two versions. The only way to see document versions in Word 2007 is by comparing two documents using the Review tab. Unlike other editions of Word, Word 2007 does not offer the capability to view document versions in any other way.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your document in Word 2007.

    • 2

Click on the "Review" tab at the top of the document screen. Select "Compare" from the drop-down menu that appears.

    • 3

Choose your document in the "Original Document" drop-down menu in the "Compare Documents" pop-up screen. Choose the second document under the "Revised Document" drop-down menu.

    • 4

Click "OK" to see the document versions.
