How to Upgrade Windows Defender

Developed by Microsoft, Windows Defender is designed to protect Windows-based computers against spyware and other unwanted software. Regular updates to the program ensure that systems are guarded from the latest threats. Windows Defender comes pre-installed and enabled by default in both the Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems, but older computers may be running a beta version of the program or Windows AntiSpyware, its predecessor. If you need to upgrade to the latest edition of Windows Defender, simply download and run the corresponding installer program.
