How to Block Text Messages on Your Alltel Phone

Alltell allows you to block unwanted text messages.

Text messaging allows you to communicate with other mobile devices and emails using messages sent over a network. Alltel allows you to block receiving text messages from unwanted users through your cell phone. You can block one or more numbers from sending text messages to your phone. There is no limit on the number of people you are allowed to block and no fee associated with blocking numbers. You also have the ability to unblock a number at any time.

Instructions

1. Open a blank text message.

2. Enter "8888" in the "To" field.

3. Enter "B" and the mobile number you would like to block in the body of the text message. If you would like to block several numbers, enter "L" and the list of mobile numbers you would like to block.

4. Press "Send" to deliver the message. The number or numbers listed will be blocked from sending messages to your phone.

Tips & Warnings

• To unblock numbers, send a text message to "8888" with "U" and the mobile number or numbers in the body of the text.
