How to Convert a XVID to AMV
Some MP4 players can only play videos in an "AMV" format. You can convert a video in the "Xvid" format to an AMV video using free downloadable software. There is no freeware which allows you to directly convert Xvid videos to AMV, but you can use "Xvid Converter 1.1" to convert your Xvid video to an "AVI" format, then use "AMV Converter Tool 5.09" to convert the AVI video to AMV. This is useful if you wish to view an Xvid video on your MP4 player.

Open your Web browser. Navigate to the "Download3000" download page for "Xvid Converter 1.1." Click "Server 1." Wait for the download to complete.

Open the file. Click "Run" Click "Next". Select "I Accept The License Agreement". Click "Next". Click "Next". Click "Next". Click "Install".

Select "Xvid to video". Click the folder button next to the "Xvid File" box and select your Xvid video. Select "AVI" under "Output Formats". Click the folder button next to the "Output Folder" box. Select where you want the converted video to be saved. Click "Convert".

Open your Web browser. Navigate to the "Brothersoft" download page for "Free AMV Converter Tool 5.09". Click "Download".

Click the "Click To Download" link found next to "Server 1". Click "Save". Wait for the download to finish.

Open the file. Click "Run" on the "Windows Security" notice. Click the button to the right of the "Install Location" box. Select "Desktop". Click the "Next" button. Click the "AMV_Convert_357" folder icon on your desktop. Click "MSIen". Click "Next". Click "Next". After the installation bar is complete, click "Next". Click "Close".

Open your "Start Menu" click "All Programs" Open "MP3 Player Utilities 3.57". Click "AMV Convert Tool". Click the green folder icon next to the "Input File" box. Select the video file you converted to AVI. Click the gold disk next to the "Output File" box and select the location you want your AMV video to be saved. Click the button with two diagonal arrows to convert the file.
