      Sign in to Windows Live Messenger.

      Click on "Tools".

      Select "Emoticons".

      Click on "Create".

      Click on "Find Image" to choose an image for the emoticon you wish to create.

      Type a keyboard shortcut for your emoticon. (This will be the code you will type in a chat window when trying to insert the emoticon.)

      Name your emoticon.

      Click on "OK". Your emoticon has been added.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can get more emoticons by opening a chat window and clicking on the smiley emoticon symbol. Then, click on "more," and then click on "Ok." you will be taken to a website where you can download free emoticons.
