How to Gain More Stamina
Many chronically exhausted individuals wish that they had more stamina with which to get through their long days. By working to build stamina, you can improve your ability to complete strenuous tasks or work for long periods of time. While stamina is not something that you can build without effort, through focus and continued work, you can improve the stamina you currently possess and prepare yourself to better face mental and physical challenges.

1
Set, and stick to, an exercise schedule. By exercising regularly, you can gradually build up your stamina. Setting a schedule increases the likelihood that you will integrate exercise into your daily routine. Avoid deviating from the schedule to ensure that you don't gradually move away from exercise.

2
Stretch prior to exercise, and cool down at the conclusion of your workout. The Children, Youth and Women's Health Service suggests that those working to build up their stamina and endurance complete proper pre-exercise stretching and post-exercise cool downs to ensure they don't pull a muscle and have to stop their exercise efforts.

3
Build muscles with weight training. The more muscle you have, the easier it is for you to accomplish tasks. Complete weight training exercises to add to your muscle mass. As your musculature increases, you will find that tasks that were once difficult are easier to complete.
-
4
Raise your heart rate with aerobic exercise. A healthy heart is requisite if you want improved stamina. Participate in aerobics classes, engage in brisk walks, or swim around your area pool to raise your heart rate and improve your overall heart health.
-
5
Eat a balanced diet. Your body cannot function properly if not properly fueled. By eating a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables and lean proteins you can ensure that your body has the material it needs to produce energy throughout the day.
-
6
Increase your exercise duration gradually. As you build stamina, it will take longer periods of exercise to exhaust your energy reserves. When you notice that you are not exhausted at the conclusion of your exercise efforts, add time in 5-minute increments.
-
7
Switch exercises regularly. Each exercise type works a different set of muscles. To ensure that you build all your muscles, don't stick to the same exercise throughout your workouts. Along with the muscle building benefits, doing this also allows you to stave off boredom and makes your exercise efforts a bit more enjoyable.
