Adobe Flash is a sophisticated animation and design tool. It can be used to create flash (.fvl and .swf) movies which are popularly exported to the web. Turning pictures into a movie implies that the pictures will be played like a slide show. Flash has a built-in template to create photo slide shows. This makes the process much simpler as the amount of knowledge of Flash required by the user is significantly less.

      Open Adobe Flash by clicking "Start Menu," "Program Files," then "Adobe Flash." Click on "File," "New." A new document screen will appear. Select "Templates," then select "Photo Slideshows" and click "OK." A new template for a photo slideshow movie will appear.

      Replace the template images with user-selected photos. Click on the bottom layer of the "Layers" menu called "Picture Layer" and click on the trash can symbol to delete the template image.

      Create a new unique layer for the user's photos. Click on the "Insert Layer" button in the "Layer" menu. Title the layer "My Photos" and place it on the bottom of the "Layers" menu.

      Click once on the "My Photos" layer to highlight it. Click "File," "Import," "Import To Stage."

      Use the explorer window to find the first image in the photo slide-show movie, click it and then click "Add," then "Import." Flash will realize that this is the first photo in a series and ask the user to import the rest of the photos. Repeat this step for each additional photo. Each photo will automatically be added to the "Timeline."

      Click on "CTRL" and "Enter" on the keyboard at the same time to preview the slideshow. Click "File," "Publish" to export the movie. Enter a "File Name" for the file and select an "Output Directory"and click "OK." The file will be exported to the directory and can then be published online or viewed.
