Go to uTorrent's website at www.utorrent.com and download the uTorrent application. It is a free download and will save onto your computer desktop unless you intentionally save it to another location.

Locate torrents that you would like to view. The easiest way to find torrents, which can include just about any kind of media imaginable, is to type the name of the program you want into any search engine with the word "torrent" after it. For example, if you were looking for a movie about cats, use the search query "cat torrent" to produce a list of literally hundreds of torrents.

Look down the list and find a torrent to download. Torrents are a form of file sharing so you will want to look for a torrent with the most recent hits and highest level of "health." Healthy files are more likely to download completely with fewer errors. Torrents, like many file sharing programs, download faster depending on how many people are sharing the file. You will have the best luck with torrents that are relatively popular.

Download the torrent by clicking the download link. On some sites, the download link may be a bit hard to see. If a window pops up asking for money, leave the site and search for another link.
The torrent file you selected will automatically download onto your computer. You will want to make note of where the file was saved in case you need to open it manually at a later time.

Open uTorrent. You should be able to do this by clicking the uTorrent icon on your desktop. The torrent you just downloaded should automatically load into uTorrent. If it does not, you can navigate to the menu and physically open it just as you would a regular file on any program.
The file will begin to download. Your previous download of the torrent only contained the information necessary to download the media file once uTorrent is opened, which is why the previous file transfer completed very quickly. Once you open uTorrent, it will begin downloading of the actual media file.
Depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file, the download may take from several minutes to several days.

Wait for the file to download. When the progress meter shows 100 percent complete, you can use a program such as Windows Media Player to open and view the file. You can also burn your torrents to CD or DVD.
