How to Drape Tulle
Tulle is a light, airy and versatile fabric. It is used frequently with dresses to add bulk and texture, and it is also used for decorating. Weddings and banquets commonly use draped tulle on tables, chairs and curtains to add a soft, upscale and dramatic look to an event. Tulle comes in a variety of colors, so it is easy to drape tulle to coordinate with your event.

1
Select tulle, ribbon and push pins that are the same color. The ribbon and push pins should camouflage into the tulle, creating the appearance that it is holding itself up on its own.
-
2
Cut 4 to 6-inch pieces of ribbon to tie around the tulle.

3
Tie ribbon in a bow around the tulle, pinching it to its smallest size. Decide how wide or narrow you want the draped tulle to undulate, and tie the ribbon to the tulle at these intervals. If you are draping the tulle around the edge of a table, you may want to tie the ribbon around the tulle approximately every 1 to 2 feet. The interval is not as important as keeping the distance regular, so the draping looks professional.
-
4
Pin the ribbon to the table, chair or wall. Push the push pin through one of the loops of the bow then onto the surface you want to drape tulle across or over. Stand back and look at the draped tulle from a distance and adjust any irregularities.

Tips & Warnings
The nice thing about working with tulle is it can be trimmed without fraying. If you come up short, you can easily add another section of draped tulle without it looking shabby.
