How to Install an A940 Dell Printer
All-in-one printers such as the Dell A940 can act as multiple machines in one, such as a fax machine and copier. Install the printer to your computer to use the printer's printing and scanning abilities.

Plug in the Dell printer into a power outlet, then connect the USB cable supplied with the printer to the port on the printer back.

Insert the installation CD into your PC's CD drive.

Click "Next" on the prompts that appear to install software drivers.

Connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB port on your PC when prompted.

Click "Next" on the remaining prompts until the installer informs you the printer is ready for use.
