How to Make Custom Hats Online
Company outings, family vacations, small business promotion or sporting events are several reasons to customize hats online. A variety of hats are available on each website in a range of colors to suit the occasion. The hat is customized by following the screen prompts. Certain customization websites also give the customer the opportunity to upload original artwork images to personalize the hat as well. The images are converted into stitch files prior to production. There are also discount rates available for quantity purchases, which are beneficial for a small business marketing promotion.

5
Click on the hat area where you want the embroidery to appear. Most customization sites will allow you to select the front, back, left or right side for your embroidery placement.

6
Click on the text type you want on your hat design. A range of font types will appear. You click on the font type, which will redirect you to a separate page with embroidery thread colors to select from. You will also need to select the position of the text placement such as arched, angled or straight, as well as the embroidery height dimensions. Keep in mind that you will be charged a certain amount per text character as well as a separate charge for additional characters.

Review your design prior to placing your order. Most sites save your work by default. If you make any changes, you will most likely have to start the process again.
Uploading Customized Artwork

Repeat Section 1, Steps 1 and 2.

9
Upload your embroidery image artwork by clicking on the upload button. Make sure to read the submission guidelines. Certain sites will request a Jpeg format colored sketch as well as a black and white outline sketch. The image will be converted into an embroidery stitch file by the customization designers. This process is referred to as logo digitizing.
-

Review the converted embroidery and pricing prior to placing your order. The website will send you the converted artwork with a quote to your email address. Embroidery is priced by the amount of machine punched stitches. The higher the stitch count, the more expensive it will cost to produce. Hats have a limited area for embroidery or patches and the set area for artwork cannot be altered. This process has a separate set-up charge.
