How to Make a Non-Toxic Cleaning Solution

Many household cleaners contain chemicals, which can be toxic to small children and pets. To avoid the overpowering smell of some store-bought cleaners, you can make your own all-purpose cleaner. The all-purpose cleaner can be used to clean hard surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms without causing damage to the surfaces.

Things You'll Need

• 2 tbsp. vinegar
• 1 tsp. borax
• 1/4 cup liquid soap
• 1 lemon
• Plastic bottle
• Cloth

Instructions

1. Pour 2 tbsp. vinegar and 1 tsp. borax into a plastic spray bottle.

2. Add 1/4 cup liquid dish soap to the spray bottle.

3. Squeeze the juice from 1 lemon into the bottle.

4. Fill the remaining space in the plastic spray bottle with hot water.

5. Put the cap on the plastic spray bottle and shake it up well.

6. Spray down surfaces with the cleaner and then wipe it up with a damp cloth.
