Paper toilet seat covers can be used as blotting paper.

People with oily skin, particularly during the summer, often have trouble with their skin appearing greasy and shiny even when they have makeup on. While there are many products out on the market--including mattifying powders and blotting papers--that can help to reduce oily buildup on the face, making your own blotting papers out of a few simple items is cheaper. While high quality blotting papers can cost almost $14 a pack, homemade blotting papers can be made with toilet seat covers, which are available for purchase online for a few dollars. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Evenly cut toilet seat covers into rectangles. Cut them no larger than the business card holder as this is what you will be storing them in.

    • 2

Place the paper rectangles in a pile and store them in the business card holder.

    • 3

Use the blotting papers as needed by gently pressing, not rubbing, on face. Concentrate on the T-zone area--nose, forehead and chin--as those are areas where oil tends to build up.

Tips & Warnings

  • Rice paper can be used instead of toilet seat covers.
