How to Stop the HP 1400 From Printing a Calibration Page

How to Stop the HP 1400 From Printing a Calibration Page thumbnail
You'll have to act fast to stop a calibration page from printing.

The HP 1400 all-in-one printer offers tools to allow the user to re-calibrate the printer, fixing errors such as smudges and misalignment. Before it begins, it prints a calibration page that contains a variety of lines, colors and images. This allows the user to see what problems need fixing. If you hit the wrong button or changed your mind about calibrating the printer, you can stop the calibration page printing using several methods.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the paper. The HP 1400 printer has the paper sitting out in the open. If you quickly take it all out before the page begins printing, you will get an error message. You can then cancel the print job. If the printer has already grabbed the paper, go to the next step.

    • 2

Find the HP Inkjet Toolbox at the bottom of your computer screen (it should have opened when the process began). Highlight the calibration page entry that says "Printing" next to it. Click "Cancel job." If you do not see the Toolbox or page entry immediately, continue to the next step.

    • 3

Turn off or unplug your printer. This will immediately stop the print job. You will see an error message on your computer screen. From there, you can cancel the job and then restart the printer.
