How to Stretch a Tire to Fit a Rim
A stretched tire is one that was too small to fit on a particular rim. In other words, the tire is narrower than the recommended size listed on the rim for a proper fit. However, many custom car owners stretch tires to fit oversized rims. It gives the car a customized look that is impossible to achieve otherwise. This is a custom car trick generally intended for experienced tire mounters.

1
Mount the tire on the rim as you normally would. Push the tire rim through the tire by hand so that the tire walls are inside of the rim edges. Use tire irons to push the walls up and over the rim if necessary. Or, if you have a tire mounting machine, insert the rim and tire into this device to mount the tire.

2
Apply brake grease to the tire walls and around the rim in a liberal fashion. This assists in the final mounting process, which requires a forceful blast of air to slide the tire walls out into a seal with the rim.

3
Connect your air hose from a compressed-air canister to the tire nozzle. With the tire set on the ground or supported between two tires or similar objects, release a blast of compressed air into the tire. This air blast forces the tire walls to flap out, forming the seal with the tire.

4
Inflate the tires with the compressed air canister to complete the tire mount. This will form the seal between the stretch tire and rim.
