How to Troubleshoot Microsoft Office Outlook 2007

Problems that you may experience with the Microsoft Outlook 2007 application include conflicts with a specific add-in that has been installed. You may also have a gadget installed on your system that is integrated with Outlook but is not working correctly. Correct these problems by disabling installed add-ins for Outlook and removing gadgets from your system. You also may need to disable the integration of Communicator with Outlook.

Instructions

  1. Disable Add-ins

      Double-click the Microsoft Outlook icon to open the program. Select the "Tools" drop-down and select the option for "Trust Center."

      Select the "Add-ins" option and then click "COM Add-ins" from the "Manage" list. Click the "Go" button to display the "COM Add-ins" dialog box.

      Scroll through the list of add-ins that are currently installed. Uncheck the box to the left of any add-in that is not needed. Repeat this step for any additional add-ins that you want to disable.

      Click the "OK" button to save the changes. Close and then restart Outlook for the changes to take effect.

    Remove Installed Gadgets

    Disable Integration with Communicator
