How to Set Up a Qwest DSL Modem to a D-Link Broadband Router
In order to use your Qwest DSL modem with a D-link broadband router, you must set up the router as an access point. To do this, change several of the router's advanced options through its web-based configuration page. This may sound daunting, but only a few options need to be changed.

1
Numbered ethernet ports Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the numbered Ethernet ports on your D-link router, and plug the other end into an Ethernet port on your computer.
-
2
Open a web browser and enter "192.168.0.1" into the address bar. This brings you to the login screen of the D-link router.
-
-
3
Enter the user name and password for an account with administrator's privileges on the router. The default administrator's account has the user name "admin" and no password; leave the password field blank. If you don't know what the user name and password are, ask the person who set up the router.
-
4
Click the "Setup" tab at the top of the window, then select the "Network Settings" option from the panel on the left.
-
5
Enter "192.168.0.151" in the "Router IP Address" box, then click the "Save Settings" button near the top of the window. Your router may reset itself when you save the settings. Wait 30 seconds and log back into the router if it does.
-
6
Go back to the "Network Settings" section.
-
7
Enter "155" in the first "DHCP IP Address Range" box. Leave "199" in the second box.
-
8
Uncheck the "Enable DHCP Server" box in the "DHCP Server Settings" section of the window. Click the "Save Settings" button again.
-
9
Plug an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the Qwest DSL modem and plug the other end into a numbered Ethernet port on the D-link router. Do NOT plug it into the "WAN" or "LAN" port.
