How to Fill a Water Cooler
Water coolers in the home or office provide clean, cold, refreshing drinking water. A typical water cooler uses 5-gallon bottles that must be changed when empty. The thought of changing out an empty 5-gallon bottle can be intimidating, but the process is actually quite simple. Does this Spark an idea?

Remove the empty bottle from the cooler. The empty bottle should easily lift out of the cooler.

Clean the new bottle with a cloth or towel, if necessary. Any dust near the top of the bottle could fall into the water reservoir during changing.

Remove the protective cap from the new bottle by pulling the tab to release the seal on the bottle. Lift the cap off of the bottle, or gently pry it off with your fingers.

Grasp the top of the bottle with one hand and place your other hand beneath the bottom edge of the bottle.

Lift the bottle so the top of the bottle is just above the height of the cooler.

Slowly tip the bottle so it begins to pour into the cooler. Continue tipping the bottle until it stands upright in the cooler.

Adjust the bottle to be sure it is standing straight and upright, positioned evenly in the center of the cooler opening.

Tips & Warnings
Do not panic when water begins to pour out of the bottle. Remain calm and steady, continuing the tipping motion until the bottle is standing upright.
A new bottle of water will take approximately 30 minutes to cool.
Lift with your legs, not your back.
A 5-gallon bottle of water weighs about 40 lbs. Do not attempt to lift it if you are not physically able to lift 40 lbs.
