How to Replace Keys on the IBM ThinkPad Laptop

Turn off your IBM ThinkPad and remove the power cord.

Place one of the square retainers into the slot missing a key. The square retainer is a plastic piece in the shape of a square. The plastic piece has four small fasteners located near its corners.

Snap the square retainer into place on top of the square one.

Snap the replacement key over the retainers.

Repeat this procedure for as many keys as you wish.
