How to Transport Two Quads in a Trailer
Fitting your two quads in a small trailer can, at first glance, seem like a bit of a trial. Some quads are extremely large, and many trailers aren't long enough to fit two fully sized quads length-wise. There is, however, a way to accomplish this task with most trailers. It requires two people in good health and a bit of muscle.
Instructions
-
Loading the Quads
-
1
Hook up and park the trailer in as flat a location as possible. This makes it easier to get the quads up the ramp and makes it less of a task to maneuver the quads on the trailer.
-
2
Lower the trailer's ramp. Then, start the first quad, shift it into reverse and back it up onto the trailer.
-
-
3
Back the quad completely up against the rear of the trailer and the right side (looking from behind).
-
4
Have an assistant join you on the trailer. Together, lift the front of the quad, sliding it toward the left side of the trailer. When the front tire of the quad touches the edge of the trailer, one person steps down and lifts from outside of the trailer while the other lifts from on top. Keep sliding the quad until it sits fully perpendicular with the length of the trailer.
-
5
Back up the second quad onto the trailer, butting it up against the first quad, once again on the right side of the trailer width. Then, repeat step 4.
Securing the Quads
-
6
Loop a tie-down through the rear axle of both ATVs.
-
7
Slide the hook ends of both tie-downs through the railing on the side of the trailer.
-
8
Tighten down both tie-downs, getting them as tight as possible. This will secure the quads against the railing side of the trailer.
-
9
Loop a tie-down through the front bully bar of both quads.
-
10
Tighten these tie-downs against the other side of the trailer. These reverse counter the tie-downs you've already secured.

Tips & Warnings
Adding a third assistant can make the process even easier. Don't be afraid to ask for help during this process.
Lift properly whenever dealing with extremely heavy items such as quads. Back injuries are common to ATV owners.
