Creating a duplicate copy of all information on a particular partition of your Windows XP computer enables you to create backup copies of all of the folders and files. This prevents permanent damage by user mistakes such as accidental file deletions.

Instructions

      Right click "Start" and click "Explore".

      Click on "Tools", open "Folder Options", click on the "View" tab, check the box to "Show Hidden Files", and uncheck the box to "Hide Protected Files".

      Click the partition to be copied.

      Highlight all files and folders on the partition. Press "Ctrl" and "C" at the same time.

    • 5

      Select the desired destination for the copied files. Press "Ctrl" and "V" to paste the copied files.
