How to Purchase a Kegerator
There are many different types of appliances available to consumers, some of which you might not even know exist. Certain types of appliances actually combine the functions and conveniences of two different things. For example, a kegerator is a refrigerator with a built-in keg and tap. This allows the alcohol in your keg to always be cold because it's inside the refrigerator. This appliance is perfect for people who love to host parties and socialize in their own home. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Decide what capacity kegerator you need. This depends on how much alcohol you want to keep in the kegerator at a time. There are two sizes available: the mini, which holds 5 liters; and the full size, which holds 15.5 gallons.

2
Choose a commercial kegerator if you plan to have a draft-beer system set up like a self-serve bar. This is usually at about cabinet height. Note that commercial kegerators are only available in the mini size.

3
Determine if you will ever want to use your kegerator outside. If this is the case, you should choose an indoor/outdoor use kegerator, which can withstand fluctuating temperatures. Note that kegerators that can keep beer chilled outdoors are only available in the full size.

Find a retail location or online store that sells kegerators. You can then contact the store to find out if they carry the type of kegerator you wish to purchase. You can search for locations on the Kegerator.com website's "Kegerator Finder" page, or you can contact appliance stores in your area to ask if they sell kegerators. Some brands that sell kegerators include Alfresco, Kenmore, Continental, Frigidaire and EdgeStar. As of September 2010, the Kegerator.com website was quoting prices in the $160 to $200 range for mini kegerators, and between $500 to $1,700 for full-sized kegerators.
