The Windows "Start" menu can make navigating the computer easier. The menu has shortcuts to regularly used applications and programs. You can add and remove shortcuts to the XP menu as you please. If you accidentally remove one of the shortcuts and want to restore it, you can pin it to the "Start" menu.
