How to Scan a Document on an Epson Cx7400
The Epson Stylus CX7400 not only prints both color and black ink, but also copies and scans documents using the printer’s flatbed scanner. You can access the printer’s scanning glass by lifting the cover on top of the printer. Since you lay documents directly on the scanning glass, you can scan loose leaf papers, documents in books or other odd shapes. You will need to install the printer’s full software package, using the printer’s installation disc, in order to scan a document.
Instructions

1
Open the printer’s top cover to expose the scanning glass. Place the document face-down on the glass in the front right corner.
-
2
Close the printer’s cover slowly so the document does not move. Double-click on the icon on your computer’s desktop called “Epson Scan.”
-
-
3
Select “Full Auto Mode” from the pull-down menu labeled “Mode.” Click on the “Scan” button at the bottom of the window.
-
4
Wait as the printer scans the document. When you see the document come up in a Windows Explorer window, the scan is complete.
-
5
Double-click the document to open it in the default program. Click on “File” at the top of the new window, then “Save As” to choose where to save the document.
