How to Reset DirecTV's Receiver for Parental Control

Parents who subscribe to DirecTV service in their homes can set up parental control settings on their televisions to limit the access their children have to content deemed objectionable. DirecTV parental control features allow you to block shows and movies that include violence, pornography, objectionable language and other adult content. You can reset the parental controls on your DirecTV receiver to their original settings if you desire.

Instructions

1. Press the remote control's "Menu" button.

2. Use the "Down" arrow button on your remote to highlight "Parental Controls." Press the "Select" button.

3. Use the arrow button to highlight "Edit Settings." Press "Select."

4. Move your highlighter to select a parental control category and press "Select."

5. Enter your parental control password.

6. Highlight "Unlocked" and press "Select."

7. Highlight all other parental control categories and select "Unlocked" on each one. You have now reset DirecTV parental controls.
