How to Light a Match with Your Fingernail

Amaze all your friends by magically lighting a match in the blink of an eye without a striker. You don't need anything more than the match itself to perform this trick that dazzles and you can master it in just a few minutes.

Things You'll Need

• Stick (not cardboard) match

Instructions

1. Hold the match with your pointer, middle and ring fingers so your thumb is free and the match is within reach of your thumb.

2. Clench your hand almost into a fist so the match is held steady.

3. Run the tip of your fingernail across the head of the match so the match runs over the tip of the nail in the same way a nail file would. Do this quickly and firmly.

4. Repeat the action until the match is lit.

• You do run the risk of being burned any time you mess with matches, but even more so when using your own body to light the match.
