1
Buy a hole-making tool made specifically for HP printer cartridge. These tools are usually available at office supply stores, along with other printer accessories.
-
2
Connect the hole making tool to a power outlet. You must wait for at least two minutes before using it.
-
-
3
Insert the tip of the hole making tool on the lower right corner of the cartridge on its back. Just burn a hole into the plastic, large enough for the toner bottle to go inside. This is where the cartridge's toner compartment is located, and it must be reached to refill the cartridge.
-
4
Unplug the hole making tool and keep it aside after making the hole. Make sure you don't touch its tip as it will be burning hot.
-
5
Unseal the bottle that contains toner.
-
6
Secure a funnel cap onto the toner bottle's mouth. This will allow easy flow of toner into the cartridge's hole from the bottle.
-
7
Tilt the funnel cap towards the hole and allow the toner to flow in. Keep going until the cartridge is full. Then place the bottle aside and put its cap back on.
-
8
Use a seal plug to seal the hole you burned on the cartridge. Seal plugs are available at stores that sell cartridge accessories. You will most likely be able to find it when you go to purchase the hole making tool.
-
9
Place the cartridge back into the printer.
