How to Share Photos With Picasa

Sharing images allows your friends, family, and colleagues to view photographs you have taken. Picasa is a basic photograph editing and image library application created by Google. Picasa is the PC software client that accesses your Google Account via Picasa Web Albums. Picasa synchronizes naturally with its online counterpart and allows for easy photograph sharing on the web with other Google friends, users, and also the public (if chosen).

Instructions

    • 1

Sign up for a Google Account at Gmail (see Resources) if you do not already have one.

    • 2

Open Picasa by clicking the desktop shortcut, or by clicking "Start," then "All Programs," then "Picasa," then "Picasa" again.

    • 3

Select the photographs you'd like to share, hold down "Ctrl" as you select photographs to select multiple images at once.

    • 4

      Click the "Upload" button.

    • 5

Enter your Google Account login details and click "Sign In." Choose your upload settings such as "Album Name," "Upload Size," and also "Visibility Level" (this amends who can access the images). Click "Upload" to upload the photographs. When the upload is complete click "View Online" and then distribute the web URL to other people to share the album online.
