How to Import a Photo to Corel Paint X
Corel has three software packages that will allow you to adjust and paint on your digital photos. Corel Painter, Paintshop Pro Photo, and Paint It. Corel Painter X is a digital painting program that mimics traditional media. Paintshop Pro Photo X3 is a photo-manipulation program. Paint It applies filters to photos and allows the user to paint on the photo. All three programs can import digital photos and support standard image file types such as JPG.

Save your photo onto your computer from your digital camera. Depending on the type of camera, you can use a cable to connect your camera to your computer or remove the memory card from the camera and place it in a card reader. A window will open asking what to do with the file. Choose "Browse" and a window with the photos will open. Drag your photo to the desktop.

Open your software package by clicking on its icon. The software will open with a splash screen menu.

Choose "Open an Existing File" from the splash screen menu. Choose your photo and click "OK".
