How to Carve a Watermelon Punch Bowl
Watermelon can quench your thirst on a hot summer day. Watermelons are in season during the summer and are often found at summer barbecues and parties. The fruits come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and they are full of antioxidants. Instead of throwing the rind away, carve the watermelon into a fruit punch bowl. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Baking sheet
- Towel
- Sharp knife
- Water-soluble marker
- Melon ball utensil
- Plastic wrap
- Punch

Place the watermelon on its side on a baking sheet. Cover the baking sheet with a towel to absorb juices.

Create a stable base on the bottom of the watermelon but cutting a thin slice. Do not cut the slice too deep, or the punch will leak out of the watermelon.

Cut a large hole in the top third of the watermelon. You can draw a large circle with a water-soluble marker to ensure that you cut an even hole.

Remove the fruit from the watermelon with a melon ball utensil. You can also you a large spoon. Remove all the fruit until you see the white rind.

Create points on the edge of the watermelon bowl with a sharp knife. Cut the edges to create a zigzag pattern.

Cover the watermelon with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. Fill the punch bowl with your preferred punch when you are ready to use it.

Tips & Warnings
Save the leftover watermelon and cut it into chunks. Place the watermelon on a serving platter or around the watermelon fruit punch bowl for guests to enjoy.
