How to Open Up New Karts in "Mario Kart DS"

"Mario Kart DS" is the Nintendo DS iteration of Nintendo's popular franchise. The game melds much of the classic gameplay from the SNES' "Super Mario Kart" and Nintendo 64's "Mario Kart 64" while bringing in new concepts such as kart customization and additional power-ups from newer games. Users can also unlock different karts, which was a popular feature first released on the Gamecube's "Mario Kart": Double Dash. And as with any unlockables in the Mario Kart series, gamers must beat races to obtain the extra karts.

Instructions

1. Unlock "Mirror Mode" by obtaining gold cups in each trophy race on the Retro Series.

2. Unlock the R.O.B. racer by earning gold cups in either the Retro or Nitro series.

3. Earn gold cups in the remaining series in Mirror mode after you unlock R.O.B. Afterward, you will have gold cups in both the Retro a Nitro series of Mirror mode. This unlocks all karts.

Tips & Warnings

• You can earn gold cups in trophy races by finishing first place in points.
